About Healthy Heroes

Healthy Heroes will teach children the positive impact of playing sports. Valuable lessons learned form the sport should not be available to the few, or even only to the physically fit.

Healthy Heroes will teach children how to stay healthy through sports and promote diverse physical activities to improve health and well-being. 

Healthy Heroes Peer Buddies System will allows younger students have direct mentorship from high school students.

Healthy Heroes Peer Buddies will serve as mentors for younger students and enhance students interest in math and english through fun online games. 

Purpose & Vision

 Understanding how children learn best through play, the purposes of Healthy Heroes are... 

 

1) to promote physical activity and healthier habits among youth groups through fun sports

2) enhance elementary students' interest in Math and English through online educational games.

 

Through our efforts, we hope to create a healthier community by helping kids stay active and promote greater interest in STEM among youth groups. â€‹

FAQ's

How will meetings be conducted and how often?

All meetings will be conducted via Zoom! Healthy Heroes meetings will occur once a month to teach children how to stay healthy through sports and diverse activities. Healthy Heroes Peer Buddies will occur once a week for 1 hour. Our high school peer buddies mentors will serve as a role model for elementary students and teach children various subjects, including reading, vocabulary, and math.

What does Healthy Heroes add to my college resume?

    engage in hands-on activities at home, and 2) make a

  positive impact in children’s lives by serving as a mentor and student teacher.  Students could demonstrate their leadership potential, pro-activity and productivity to support others during the global

      pandemic.

Healthy Heroes Peer Buddies are trained by the activity coordinator at Stevenson Ranch Elementary School. The training session will teach  mentors what lessons to teach and how to be effective mentors for elementary students.

Do I need any qualifications to become a mentor?  

How can I sign up to become a Healthy Heroes Peer Buddy Mentor (high school students)? 

If you want to become a mentor, please submit a message using the Contact tab, click the register button on the home page, or email 99039801@my.hartdistrict.org showing your interest in becoming a mentor. The President of Healthy Heroes will get back to you to discuss you next steps.

  Buddies are trained by the
